Silage and health booklet joins vast library on HCC stand

A wealth of information for farmers will be available on the HCC stand during the Winter Fair.

Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales will have an extensive library of more than 50 technical booklets on its stand in the Glamorgan Hall covering virtually all aspects of livestock production.

A new booklet – Silage and Health: improving animal health, welfare and profitability – has been published and is available for the first time at the Winter Fair. All the booklets are available free of charge.

“Our library of publications always proves to be a popular draw with farmers keen to get the latest information on various aspects of livestock keeping,” said Lynfa Davies, HCC’s Technical Development Executive.

“The latest publication on Silage and Health, for example, contains a 10 point plan on how to produce high quality silage and the nutrients it contains. It also includes details of diseases that can lurk in poorly prepared silage, and what action to take to eliminate those risks.”

Visitors to the HCC stand will also be able to discuss individual issues with members of the Industry Development team, and take part in a beef carcase grading competition with the chance of winning a £50 meat voucher in time for Christmas.
