Take one for the team: Welsh Beef is supporting grassroots rugby
PGI Welsh Beef is supporting grassroots rugby by offering junior teams in Wales the chance to win brand new equipment and a training session with legendary Scarlets prop, Phil John.
Entrants will have to earn their prize, as PGI Welsh Beef is asking teams to show why they deserve to win by sharing a photo of the team that depicts what the youth game is all about. Whether you’ve been carried off the field on the shoulders of giants or on a stretcher, PGI Welsh Beef is looking for the guts, the gaffs and the glory that epitomise the grassroots game.
Phil John: “For me, PGI Welsh Beef and grassroots rugby go hand-in-hand. After all, what could be better after a physically demanding game than a quality high-protein steak with your teammates? It’s fantastic to think that initiatives like this can play a part in the development of the next generation of Welsh stars and couldn’t think of a better organisation to partner with than PGI Welsh Beef.”
Rhys Llywelyn, Market Development Manager, HCC: “Rugby is an incredibly important pillar of Welsh culture, whether it’s watching the national team taking on our rivals in Cardiff or huddled on your local club’s sidelines watching your child score their first try. We want to show our support for local clubs and the great work they do in the community and it’s fantastic to have a Welsh rugby icon like Phil on board.”
How the competition works:
● Take a post match picture of you and your teammates bathed in glory (or caked in mud).
● Share your photo to https://www.facebook.com/PGIWelshBeef along with the hashtag #BredInHeaven.
● PGI Welsh Beef will choose its favourite and provide the team with £1,000 worth of equipment, a half day training session with Phil John and a post-session BBQ.
