HCC launches exciting new recipe channel

Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) has launched an exciting new recipe channel, Meat Me in the Kitchen, which includes a range of versatile and quick dishes using Welsh Lamb, Welsh Beef and pork.

Meat Me in the Kitchen offers a number of tasty recipe videos which include easy to follow instructions which are ideal to emulate at home.

These videos are an important element in the promotion of utilising lamb in quick and easy meals. Lamb in particular is an underrated choice in comparison to other fresh red meat and is forty percent less likely to be chosen as an ingredient for a midweek meal. The diverse Welsh Lamb recipes on the channel demonstrate how versatile lamb can be in a range of stress-free meals.

The videos, which will be available in both English and Welsh are ideal for following on smartphones and tablets. This style of recipe video has become increasingly popular on social media as it is easy to share and the duration of the videos are short, making them more appealing to the audience whose time to cook an evening meal has decreased over the years.

Figures show that many modern young couples have a desire to cook but just don’t have the time; nowadays the preparation of an evening meal takes an average of just 32 minutes compared with 45 in 1990 and 60 in 1980.

Kirstie Jones, Market Development Officer at Hybu Cig Cymru, commented: “I am delighted with our new channel and the high quality of recipes it has to offer. The videos are extremely easy to follow, allowing people of all ages to join in and enjoy the great taste of Welsh Lamb, Welsh Beef and pork from Wales.”

The inclusion of economical cuts of Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef in the dishes encourages utilising meat as part of a balanced healthy diet.

The recipes which have been uploaded on to the channel to date include delicious Slow Cooked Welsh Lamb Shank and Welsh Lamb Risotto.

The video channel will be updated regularly with new and enticing recipes that coincide with the time of year and seasonality of the meat.
