Welsh Lamb joins chef Bryn Williams to support soldiers’ charity

On 28 February, a very special dinner will be held at top north Wales restaurant Bryn Williams at Porth Eirias, to help support injured soldiers, veterans and their families.

ABF The Soldiers’ Charity raises hundreds of thousands of pounds nationwide through its ‘Big Curry’ nights. The charity has now enlisted the help of Bryn Williams – the Welsh chef who has risen to the top of his profession and is a well-known face on TV – for an extra special evening at his Colwyn Bay bistro.

Also supporting the venture is Hybu Cig Cymru – Meat Promotion Wales (HCC), who is sponsoring top-quality PGI Welsh Lamb for the menuand donating a £75 gift voucher to the restaurant as a raffle prize.

Welsh Guardsman Stewart Harris and his family were helped by ABF The Soldiers’ Charity when he was injured in Afghanistan in 2012. He is now co-ordinating the special Big Curry dinner with Bryn Williams at Porth Eirias bistro.

Stewart Harris said; “The Soldiers’ Charity is a great Army charity which is there to look after you and your family if need be. I’m delighted that Bryn Williams has lent his support to this fundraising dinner, as well as the inspirational Sergeant Rick Clement as our guest speaker. A curry inspired by a top chef, using the finest Welsh Lamb – it promises to be a fantastic evening.”

Kirstie Jones from HCC added; “We’re delighted to support this excellent fundraising event, which is looking to raise over £1000 to help veterans, injured soldiers and their families through difficult times. As well as supporting the cause, people will have opportunities to win great prizes and memorabilia, and of course sample Bryn’s take on a classic PGI Welsh Lamb curry!”

The dinner will be held on Wednesday, February 28 at 7 pm. Tickets are available at £35 from Bryn Williams at Porth Eirias on 01492 577525.
