Lucky local wins the perfect Welsh day as voted by the public
A lucky competition winner has won ‘the perfect Welsh Day’ as part of PGI Welsh Beef’s Slice of Heaven competition. The Welsh local from Newtown Mid Wales, has won a personal guided walking tour of the Brecon Beacons and an evening meal and overnight stay at the critically acclaimed Felin Fach Griffin.
The prize was created following on from research conducted by PGI Welsh Beef that revealed the Welsh public's idea of the perfect day — a walk in the Brecon Beacons and a meal in a classic country pub. The research was conducted by PGI Welsh Beef to help launch its second #SliceOfHeaven campaign whereby fans would get to win the experience of a perfect Welsh day.
The winner will enjoy a personal guided tour of the Brecon Beacons by mountaineering expert Kevin Walker who has been running navigation tours of the Welsh mountains for the last 38 years. Author of the popular guidebook ‘Undiscovered Wales’, Kevin celebrates hidden treasures and champions the forgotten history and heritage of Wales.

I am excited to share this special slice of heaven with the lucky winner.”
After a day of exploring the scenic Welsh hills, the winner will spend the night at the award winning Felin Fach Griffin. The Griffin is currently the Dining Pub of the Year in Wales for the sixth time in 7 years, according to the new 2017 Good Pub Guide.
